Job Description

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist to join their dynamic team! This client is a healthcare start-up backed by a prominent Chicago-based private equity firm. In this role, you will work closely with the Controller and internal accounting team to manage day-to-day AP functions and deliver comprehensive financial reporting for their family office investors.

AP Specialist Responsibilities:

• Process and verify invoices, expense reports and payment requests
• Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions
• Reconcile vendor statements and handle vendor inquiries
• Assist with month-end closing procedures as needed
• Perform account analysis and reconciliations
• Identify and resolve invoice discrepancies and payment issues

AP Specialist Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• 2+ years of accounts payable experience, healthcare industry experience preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures

• Hybrid arrangement: 3 days in office, 2 days remote
• Standard business hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

AP Specialist Benefits:

• Salary: $60,000 per year
• Location: Hybrid (Downtown Chicago)
