As we continue to grow and evolve, we are looking for a strategic and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our team and lead our financial operations.
Job Summary:
As the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will play a vital role in our executive team, overseeing all financial aspects of our gallery. Your strategic financial leadership will be essential in ensuring our financial stability and growth, as well as supporting our mission and goals. This position can be based in either New York City, NY, or Beverly Hills, CA. We seek a candidate with a solid background in finance, accounting, and strategic planning, who is passionate about the arts and has experience in the luxury sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy & Planning:
Develop and implement financial strategies that align with our gallery's mission and growth objectives.
Collaborate with the executive team to create long-term financial plans and budgets.
Analyze financial data to provide valuable insights and recommendations for strategic decision-making.
Financial Management:
Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, accounting, and financial reporting.
Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements and reports.
Manage cash flow, investments, and financial risks to maintain the gallery's financial health.
Compliance & Governance:
Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, laws, and accounting standards.
Oversee audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting.
Develop and implement internal controls and financial policies to safeguard our assets.
Fundraising & Revenue Generation:
Support fundraising efforts and grant applications by providing insightful financial projections.
Develop strategies for revenue generation, including partnerships, sponsorships, and other income streams.
Monitor and report on financial performance related to fundraising and revenue activities.
Team Leadership:
Lead and mentor the finance team, promoting a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Oversee the recruitment, development, and performance management of finance staff.
Provide guidance and support to other departments on financial matters.
Financial Systems & Processes:
Evaluate and enhance financial systems and processes for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
Implement and maintain financial software and tools to streamline operations and reporting.
Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for all financial transactions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree or CPA preferred).
Proven experience as a CFO, Finance Director, or in a similar role, ideally in the arts or luxury sector. Prior gallery experience is not required.
Knowledge of tax laws, shipping regulations, and handling consignments, including international tax and imports.
Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional leadership and communication abilities, with a knack for collaborating effectively with diverse stakeholders.
