Position: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

With a diverse portfolio that includes product innovation, engineering, manufacturing, and real estate, we are looking for a dynamic leader to join our executive team.
About the Role:
As a key member of our executive leadership team, the CFO will report directly to the CEO and serve as a trusted advisor to the business owner. This pivotal role involves overseeing the company's financial activities and partnering with leadership to ensure alignment with our strategic goals. You will be instrumental in tax planning, annual budgeting, risk management, operational strategies, and financial guidance.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership: Recruit, develop, and maintain a high-performing financial team focused on financial reporting, tax compliance, accounting, and financial planning & analysis (FP&A).
Strategic Development: Collaborate on the development and execution of company goals that align with our strategic business plan.
Financial Strategy: Design financial and tax strategies for both parent and subsidiary companies.
Banking Relations: Foster strong relationships with banks and financial institutions to support our growth objectives while ensuring compliance with financial covenants and reporting requirements.
Risk Management: Coordinate with external brokers to manage insurance and risk management activities effectively.
Pricing Guidance: Provide insights to the accounting and sales teams on customer pricing strategies.
Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of business unit and consolidated financial statements, forecasts, optimization activities, and business plan updates.
Budget Oversight: Direct and oversee the preparation of all annual and revised budgets.
Reporting Accuracy: Ensure the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of all financial reporting.
M&A Involvement: Collaborate on the review, due diligence, and action related to acquisition initiatives.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is highly preferred.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in both public and corporate accounting.
Prior experience as a CFO is preferred.
Proven track record of implementing process efficiencies and profit improvement plans.
Exceptional leadership, team development, and communication skills.
Highly analytical with strong organizational capabilities.
Experience with M&A activities, including due diligence and financing options.
Substantial experience in standard cost accounting and financial accounting functions, including accounts receivable, credit and collections, accounts payable, and financial reporting.
Proficiency in managing ERP systems; experience with IQMS is a plus.
Travel Requirements:
This position may require up to 30% travel within the United States, primarily in the Midwest and Southwest regions.
