Role: End-User Computing (EUC) Engineer

Duration: 6-month contract to hire

Location: Saddle Brook, NJ - Hybrid

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

• VDI Implementation and Maintenance
• Design, deploy, and maintain VDI environments using industry-standard tools such as VMware Horizon, Citrix, or Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and Windows 365 Cloud PC.
• Ensure the VDI environment meets performance, scalability, and reliability requirements for the organization.
• Technical Support
• Provide Level 2/3 support for VDI issues and troubleshoot connectivity, performance, and application-related issues for end-users.
• Serve as a point of escalation for complex VDI issues and work with IT teams to ensure timely resolution.
• Optimization and Monitoring
• Monitor the VDI environment for performance and capacity, proactively identifying potential issues and implementing solutions.
• Analyze usage patterns and provide recommendations for optimization, including user profile management and resource allocation.
• Design, deploy, and maintain automated VDI testing for baseline and change control.
• Security and Compliance
• Implement security best practices within the VDI environment, including access controls, encryption, and data protection.
• Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Documentation and Knowledge Sharing
• Develop and maintain documentation on the VDI environment, including system architecture, configuration settings, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Provide training and guidance to support staff to ensure consistent support across the end-user computing environment.
• Collaboration
• Work closely with IT infrastructure, networking, and application teams to ensure seamless integration of the VDI environment with other systems.
• Coordinate with vendors and service providers for technical support and updates to VDI technologies.

Qualifications:

• Education: Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience: 3+ years in IT, with a focus on end-user computing and VDI solutions.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in VDI technologies such as VMware Horizon, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, or Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop.
• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
• Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and user profile management.
• Familiarity with scripting (e.g., PowerShell) for automation is a plus.
• Knowledge of end user computing/digital experience monitoring and automation platforms such as Controlup.
• Experience with Microsoft Intune and application packaging.
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
