The Executive Assistant will serve as a vital partner to the President and Executive Office, managing schedules, preparing materials, overseeing communication, and supporting daily operations. Reporting to the Chief of Staff, this role requires discretion, attention to detail, and the ability to anticipate the needs of senior leadership while maintaining professionalism and poise under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support logistics for board meetings, executive committee sessions, and other high-profile events.
  • Assist with the creation and distribution of board materials, including proofreading and formatting.
  • Track action items and follow-ups discussed in meetings.
  • Maintain executive office contact records in Salesforce and manage internal documentation.
  • Submit expense reports and assist with purchasing needs.
  • Provide general administrative support and complete ad hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required (minimum 3.5 GPA preferred).
  • 2–5 years of Executive Assistant experience, ideally in a nonprofit or mission-driven environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Salesforce is a strong plus.
  • Excellent writing, proofreading, and communication skills.
  • Strong emotional intelligence and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be resilient, composed, and capable of working closely with a high-expectation executive.

  • Occasional after-hours support may be required, though infrequently.
  • Light travel may be expected 1–2 times per year.
  • This role is best suited for someone deeply committed to a long-term career as an Executive Assistant.
  • Candidates should be comfortable supporting a direct, East Coast-style leadership personality and possess the confidence to set boundaries and push back professionally when needed.

Perks:

  • Direct access to high-level leadership and front-row insight into public policy.
  • Highly respected, mission-driven organization with a collaborative team environment.
  • Exceptional retirement benefits and support for professional development.
  • Beautiful, centrally located office in Washington, DC.
