Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Entry-Level Accountant with a focus on Accounts Payable to join our team in Carson, California. This is a Contract-to-Permanent position within the non-profit sector, offering an opportunity to contribute to meaningful work while honing your accounting skills. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial systems and processes, as well as the ability to provide support for audits, reconciliations, and general ledger activities. Responsibilities: - Manage full-cycle, high-volume accounts payable processing for multiple units. - Maintain and update vendor files, ensuring compliance with W9 and 1099 requirements. - Verify and code invoices, ensuring proper account allocation and adherence to organizational policies. - Generate checks and prepare accompanying documentation for distribution. - Investigate and resolve accounts payable issues, including follow-up on outstanding and stale checks. - Reconcile accounts payable aging reports on a monthly basis. - Process corporate credit card expenses, petty cash, and mileage reimbursements with accuracy and timeliness. - Prepare journal entries for prepaid expenses, accruals, and reclassification of invoices or reimbursements. - Assist with monthly and year-end closings, including balance sheet reconciliations related to accounts payable. - Support audit preparation with a focus on accounts payable activities and compliance. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution. - Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on accounts payable. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and accounting software systems; experience with Dynamics NAV or similar ERP solutions preferred. - Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams. - Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. - Self-motivated and capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously. - Ability to enter financial data with accuracy and efficiency. - Commitment to the mission and values of the organization.
