Description We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Medical Billing Specialist in Lompoc, California. The selected candidate will be involved in a range of duties including insurance verification, authorization, and patient registration. This role also includes responsibilities related to Accounts Receivable (AR), Benefit Functions, Billing Functions, and Claim Administration. Responsibilities: - Accurately and efficiently process patient registrations - Act as the first point of contact and manage the switchboard/reception - Confirm insurance coverage for patients and attain necessary authorizations - Liaise with other departments or the Director when required to ensure seamless patient care - Undertake any additional tasks as directed by the supervisor - Manage AR functions and maintain accurate billing records - Administer claims and handle billing functions - Utilize Allscripts for various administrative tasks - Oversee benefit functions as part of the role. Requirements - Possess a minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Billing Specialist or in a similar role - Proficient in using Allscripts software for medical billing and other related tasks - Demonstrated ability in managing Accounts Receivable (AR) with accuracy and attention to detail - Strong knowledge of Benefit Functions and ability to apply this knowledge in daily operations - Experience in handling Billing Functions, ensuring timely and accurate billing for all patients - Proven experience in Claim Administration, including processing, tracking, and managing medical claims.
