Job Title: Part-Time Pet Shop Worker

Location: 444 Basin St NW, Ephrata, WA

Position Type: Part-Time, Weekends

Shifts: 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM, Saturday and Sunday

Age Requirement: Applicants must be 18 years or older

Summary: We are seeking a responsible and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Part-Time Pet Shop Worker. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about animals and customer service. The role primarily involves caring for reptiles, feeder rodents, and insects. Handling transactions, and providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities:

Animal Care:

• Provide care for reptiles, feeder rodents/insects, including feeding, cleaning enclosures, and monitoring health.
• Ensure all animals have clean habitats and access to water at all times.
• Handle animals with care and follow proper safety protocols.

Money Handling:

• Accurately process transactions using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Handle cash, credit/debit card payments, and issue receipts.
• Maintain cash register accuracy and reconcile sales at the end of each shift.

Customer Service:

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with inquiries regarding products and animals.
• Provide knowledgeable recommendations and advice on pet care and products.
• Address customer concerns and resolve any issues in a professional manner.
• Maintain a clean and organized store environment to enhance the shopping experience.

Requirements:

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Passion for animals and willingness to learn about reptiles and rodents.
• Previous experience in animal care, retail, or customer service is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and the ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
• Availability to work weekends, specifically Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable standing for extended periods.
• Capable of bending, kneeling, and reaching to perform various tasks.
