**Job Description:** This role is responsible for assisting patients with pre-registering for upcoming appointments, surgeries or procedures. They are responsible for gathering important information from patients, verifying insurance coverage, and providing financial transparency in a timely manner. By working remotely in a call center setting, these specialists can efficiently assist patients over the phone, providing a convenient and accessible way for patients to prepare for their medical appointments. Their main purpose is to streamline the registration process, reduce wait times and ensure a smooth and seamless experience for patients before they arrive at a hospital. **Essential Functions** + Demonstrates complete understanding and ability to apply registration policies and procedures. + Verifies medical insurance eligibility and benefits. + Identifies and explains co-insurance, co-pay and OOP (out of pocket) patient responsibilities. + Provides cost estimates to patients and collects payments. + Collaborate with other team members to ensure patient satisfaction, by effectively communicating, both orally and in writing. + Ability to multi-task, set priorities, and manage time effectively. + Be responsible for meeting productivity and call center quality measures. + Excellent computer skills with the expectation to self-resolve technical issues with minimal assistance. **Skills** + Patient Registration + Insurance + Financial Assistance + Medical Records Management + Customer Service + Pre-Payment, Payment Handling + Communication + Office Equipment + Computer Literacy + Problem Solving + Work from home/remote **Physical Requirements:** **Minimum Qualifications** + High School Diploma or equivalent or (4) four years of revenue cycle experience + Minimum of two (2) years of revenue cycle experience, working in an acute care facility, medical office or call center + Knowledge of HIPPA regulations + Excellent computer skills (including Microsoft Office applications) + Excellent Internet connection **Preferred Qualifications** + Spanish speaking preferred + Experience with Epic preferred **Physical Requirements** + Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs. + Frequent interactions with customers that require employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately. + Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use. + Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment.
