We are currently seeking a highly experienced Senior Network Engineer (CCIE) to support a federal client through our engagement with Peraton, a leader in global health and financial solutions.

About the Role

As a Senior Network Engineer, you will play a critical role in the implementation of nationwide wireless network upgrades and Network Admission Control (NAC) systems as part of the NISS program . You'll work in a large-scale, mission-critical environment and be instrumental in designing, deploying, and supporting advanced networking solutions across approximately 1,950 field locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the deployment of WLAN solutions across 1,950+ remote field offices.
• Design and maintain Network Admission Control (NAC) systems for both WLAN and VPN.
• Assess site readiness, conduct network surveys, and define upgrade requirements.
• Analyze existing network configurations and develop implementation strategies.
• Deploy and configure network hardware and software using standardized templates.
• Provide oversight to field installation contractors during surveys and installations.
• Upgrade existing networks to support enhanced features and capabilities.
• Evaluate and test hardware/software including LAN, WAN, WLAN, and NAC systems (e.g., Cisco IOS, CatOS).
• Produce and maintain technical documentation such as network diagrams, SOPs, and system specifications.
• Deliver third-tier technical support, including on-call support outside normal business hours.
• Monitor and optimize network performance and service delivery.
• Communicate regularly with project stakeholders to provide progress updates.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field with 12+ years of experience, OR
  Master's degree with 10+ years, OR PhD with 7+ years.
• Active Cisco CCIE certification (Routing & Switching, Wireless, Security, or Data Center).
• Minimum 5 years' experience supporting large enterprise networks (3,000+ nodes).
• Minimum 3 years' experience with AWS network connectivity in enterprise settings.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Must have passed both the CCIE Written and Lab exams .

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with:
  • WAN technologies (MPLS, DMVPN, Frame Relay)
  • LAN technologies (Ethernet, WLAN, physical media and infrastructure)
  • Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) for wired and wireless NAC
• Strong technical writing skills and experience creating detailed implementation plans and documentation.
• Experience in requirements gathering and use case analysis.
• Additional certifications such as CISSP, PCNSE, or ITIL (preferred but not mandatory).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate in a cross-functional team environment.
