Job Title : Senior Network Engineer (Cisco)
Location :
- Primarily remote, utilizing the Agency's Virtual Private Network (VPN) solution.
- On-site work required at:
- Kearneysville, WV
- Ogden, UT
- Frequent travel (10+ trips per performance period) to Agency facilities, including:
- Florence, KY
- Memphis, TN
- Kearneysville, WV
- Ogden, UT

Required Clearance :
- High-Risk Background Investigation (initiated before starting work).
- 7-Panel Drug Screening (testing for marijuana, cocaine, amphetamines, opiates, 6-acetylmorphine, phencyclidine, and methamphetamine, per SAMHSA guidelines).
- Compliance with Homeland Security Presidential Directive (HSPD-12) for access to Agency facilities and systems.
Role Responsibilities :
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of CI's enterprise wired and wireless network infrastructure, including internal, external, cloud, and wireless environments.
- Conduct comprehensive network assessments (e.g., egress/ingress, bandwidth, switch/router/AP locations) and deliver detailed reports with recommendations for efficiency, reliability, performance, and security.
- Perform security assessments to ensure compliance with NIST, DISA, IRM, and CISA guidelines, documenting risks and mitigation strategies.
- Redesign network environments based on approved assessments, reducing duplicate equipment and technologies to align with CI's Standard Network Architecture.
- Develop and execute upgrade/patch plans, testing plans, and network heatmapping efforts using tools like Aruba Airwave and AutoCAD.
- Provide daily monitoring, troubleshooting, and support for network stability, responding to issues via ticketing systems, email, or phone.
- Manage network components (e.g., switches, routers, WAPs, firewalls) and ensure compliance with Cybersecurity directives and CSIRC notifications.
- Support integration of new technologies, optimize existing ones, and provide knowledge transfer/documentation for all changes.
- Supervise network engineering staff, ensuring tasks align with PWS subtasks (e.g., Subtask 5: CI Network Engineering Support).
- Participate in status meetings and provide technical briefings to CI leadership and stakeholders.
Qualifications :
- Education : Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science, or information technology.
- Experience : 5–10 years of experience in senior-level networking roles, with a focus on enterprise network design and implementation.
- Certifications (Required) :
- Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Enterprise Infrastructure.
- CCIE Enterprise Wireless.
- Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP).
- Technical Skills :
- Proficiency with Cisco network technologies (e.g., ACI, DNA, ISE) and other tools specified in the PWS (e.g., Forescout, Infoblox, HPNA, Live Action).
- Expertise in network assessment, security compliance (NIST, DISA, IRM, CISA), and federal regulatory standards (FISMA High).
- Experience with network monitoring, load balancing (e.g., F5, round-robin DNS), firewall management, and unified access segmentation.
- Familiarity with Microsoft M365 (2019 or higher), Visio Professional (2019 or higher), and Power BI Desktop (Version 2.124.1805 or higher)
