What makes this role exciting and challenging:

As a UX Researcher you will support design, implementation and delivery of UX Research within Design. You will collaborate with team members (Product, Insights, Data Science, Marketing, etc) to ensure high-quality insights so that product concepts, features and propositions can be effectively designed, validated and prototyped using the appropriate methodology, processes & tools. You will have the opportunity to utilise the full range of your research skills and work alongside a great team of people. We work as part of cross functional teams located in Greece, London, Ireland and Chicago. 

As part of your everyday responsibilities, you will:

  • Work with cross-functional teams to design and conduct research, in order to better understand customer needs and spot users’ pain points, by using various methodologies. 

  • Support senior members of the UX Research team on strategic research, translating research into actionable insights to deliver deep-dive analysis for new opportunities, trends, propositions etc.

  • Help senior members of the UX Research team to establish a user research process across discovery, concept validation and prototype, in collaboration with the Product Design and Data teams. 

  • Apply appropriate research methods to address the questions at hand, considering the nature of data needed (Qualitative/Quantitative) and the aspects to assess (Behavioural/Attitudinal).

  • Manage and deliver analysis of existing research findings and insights, assessing strength of insights and identifying gaps. Identify and apply methods for filling these gaps to improve quality of insights. 

  • Distil research questions into thorough and efficient research plans.

  • Recruit and schedule representative panels of participants.

  • Facilitate or being an active observer in moderated usability tests/ interviews.

  • Synthesise qualitative data into clear learnings with compelling evidence.

  • Manage & facilitate research activities working alongside POs & Product Designers to communicate research insights and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and compelling way.

  • Implement frameworks for sharing findings (users, market, competitors etc) on a regular basis in an engaging way to improve knowledge across teams. Compile and deliver these insights regularly to the design team and internal stakeholders. 

  • Support product designers to ask the right research question, develop testable hypotheses, document assumptions and design research / testing approaches.

  • Guide Product Designers, stakeholders and team members to use best research practices and advocate for user centred design.

Requirements

Key qualifications for your success:

  • 1-3 years of experience in User Research. 
  • Relevant Master degree and/or PHD is a bonus.
  • Comprehensive experience of qualitative research methods; including interviews, lab studies, expert evaluations, participatory design sessions and workshops, ethnographic research methods and persona development.
  • Proven experience working across the entire research process, ensuring quality outcomes - from planning to executing both qualitative and quantitative research activities, through to analysis and synthesis, storytelling and presentation.
  • Working experience on the practicalities of conducting testing: recruiting processes, scheduling and logistics, protocol development, interviewing and moderating, analysis and research deliverables.
  • Working experience as a facilitator in Usability tests/ Interviews on software products
  • Experience with remote user testing methodologies & tools.
  • Demonstrated experience working closely with product development teams in an Agile environment.

It would be highly advantageous if you had:

  • Excellent communication and presentations skills, ability to clearly articulate concepts, insights and user needs so they are understood by Design and non-Design team members. 

  • Ability to confidently convey purpose, value and concepts of design-lead product development to non-design team members. 

  • Ability to drive greater and deeper team understanding of customers' needs, motivations and behaviours. 

  • Good persuasion and relationship building skills to influence decision making and culture.

  • Proactive contribution to conversations about best practice and approach, identifying and acting on opportunities to improve team performance and structure. 

  • Strong product and design intuition: Understand what's important to focus on throughout your research and analysis.

  • Strong desire to empathise with users.

  • Experience/familiarity with tools like usertesting.com, HotJar, etc

  • Excellent self-organisation and ability to plan own work in line with priorities. 

  • Work collaboratively in a team environment.
